Who We Are

Authentic Nigerian Cuisines
Our Humble Beginning, Started Quite Simply, Like This...
In her homeland of Nigeria, Adebola Esan was a teacher. But when it came time for big family or community events, people turned to her to prepare the food. She loved cooking and was good at it, so she started a catering business on the side. Then, when she and husband Temitope Esan moved to Holland in 2002 to follow his profession as a pipeline engineer, her culinary dreams were put on hold. But when they landed in Calgary a few years later, she started cooking again. By this time, some of her children were old enough to help her in the kitchen. Soon, word spread in Calgary’s 5000-strong Nigerian community that a good cook had arrived and she found herself back in the catering business. Small events and large parties, such as a wedding anniversary bash for 500, came her way. And soon she was thinking about opening her own restaurant. - Author : John Gilchrist, for the Calgary Herald

From Calgary, AlbertaA small tidy restaurant with a big welcoming atmosphere. We enjoyed a vegetarian variety dish and a beef option - everything was perfectly spiced and the beef was tender. The owner helped us in choosing as we were unfamiliar with some items and graciously offered some complimentary items to taste. A great experience and we will be returning for sure!

From Calgary, AlbertaFirst time there was with a number of my colleagues from work for dinner. They serve a great variety of tasty, delicious, freshly made Nigerian dishes. The staff were nice and ensured we were comfortable. I'll definitely recommend this place! When you do visit, among other dishes, try their Palm Wine and their spicy Suya and Asun.

From Calgary, AlbertaVery delicious food. Great variety, most meals are made from scratch, which guaranties fresh, savory food with a little bit of waiting time. Our waitress, Pamela made us feel like family. She was very helpful. We had vegetable and okra soup, the meat was well prepared, fufu was just the right amount. Took some meat pie for the road. Washroom is clean. Overall great experience. Deserves the name 'Flavour'.
